Our Teacher Training courses are based on Balanced Body movement principles, integrating the latest biomechanical theories and exercise science for a dynamic learning experience you can immediately apply in your practice.

Movement Principles

The Foundation of Functional Movement

Programme Includes: The foundational knowledge necessary for you to understand fundamental movement and become a truly transformative teacher.

We will cover the following five sections:

Balanced Body Pilates Reformer qualification.

To become a fully qualified Balanced Body Reformer teacher, students must complete the following:

  • Movement Principles (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Reformer 1 – Course work and test (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Reformer 2 – Course work and test (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Reformer 3 – Course work and test (16 hours)

  • Anatomy, either Balanced Body Anatomy course or comparable from another institution, must be completed prior to testing out

  • 30 Reformer personal sessions, 30 observation hours and 90 student teaching hours

  • Final written and practical test (there is an additional fee for this)

  • Total hours for completion of Reformer program: 214 hours
    (not including anatomy).

  • Upon fulfilment of all Balanced Body Reformer Teacher requirements, students will receive a certificate of completion

Mat 1

This course includes an introduction to the history and principles of the Pilates method and the beginning and intermediate level exercises. Balanced Body Pilates Mat qualification.

To become a fully qualified Balanced Body Mat teacher, students must complete the following:

  • Balanced Body Movement Principles (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Mat 1 – Course work and module test (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Mat 2 – Course work and module test (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Mat 3 – Course work and module test (16 hours)

  • Final written and practical test (there is an additional fee for this)
